Christy is one of our Fatherheart girls that placed for adoption several weeks ago. She is 38 and came to Fatherheart after a brutal rape. She has stayed on with us and is working with us as an intern in the house. She is WONDERFUL, GREAT, HELPFUL, A SERVANT, AND ALWAYS SMILING!!!!! She went home for 4 days for Christmas, very excited and over joyed. Yesterday, I saw her at the house and chatted with her. She had told me she needed to talk, so I thought for sure she was going to tell me , she needed to leave Fatherheart. I was sad waiting to talk to her because I have really grown to love her and respect her alot. To my surprise, her news was just the opposite. She unfolded in slight tears and a quivering speech how most of her family rejected her this Christmas. She was not welcomed by some and only saw her adoptive mom for a few hours. She told me, "you know Nancy, I realized how much they dislike me and can't forgive me of my past. This is part of the consequences of my choices and life. I know that I am loved here at Fatherheart and am accepted and forgiven of past mistakes. I came back because this is my home now." Wow, what to say to all that ????? I assured Christy that we all have past here, girls and staff and she is VERY loved, needed, and wanted. Christy is starting some outside employment soon to pay for tuition for a YWAM school (DTS) . She is attending church regularly and becoming more independent every day. This beautiful smile you see here is her! She is always pleasant and loving. Christy was adopted and moved alot as a child. She has had some hard bumps, but she is going forward. We are thrilled to be part of her tapestry. She is a great role model for our younger girls and she tells a story of Fatherheart also. It is NOT just a home for pregnant girls. It is a home for the broken and those who need love during and after delivery of a child. She is experiencing the Father's heart for her.. We are glad to have her join us for the new year as we bring in girls like Christy who choose life for their child and the best life is sometimes adoption.
